What We Do
Strategic Planning and Policy Development
Formulates short-, medium-, and long-term transport plans and policies, ensuring alignment with national goals and efficient multimodal transport systems.
Research and Data Analysis
Conducts research, collects, and analyzes transport data to generate statistics, support evidence-based decisions, and publish reports like the Digest of Transport Statistics.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Coordination
Monitors and evaluates transport projects, coordinates with departments and external stakeholders, and oversees budgeting and ICT management for effective implementation.
HOD Planning Research And Statistics
Engr. Raymond Perebofa Awana, the Head of the Department of Planning, Research and Statistics was employed into the Service in June 2000 as a Senior Technical Officer and posted to the Bayelsa State Water Board as Assistant Director/ Assistant Manager in 2017.
He was posted to the Ministry of Transport in 2017 as Assistant Director Planning Research and Statistics and rising to the current position of Director (PRS), equally covered the Duties of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport from March 2022 to August 2023, and January 2024 to September 2024.
He is vastly read with qualifications in ND,HND,PGD,M.Tech Degress
